The Bagel Guy
From my hotel room here in New York, every morning, at around 7am, I’ve noticed a guy who without fail, wheels his Bagel Stand into place right on the street corner. About half an hour later at around 7.30am a line of people begins to form and it’s all the Bagel guy can do to keep up with demand as people thrust their cash at him, as a Bagel and hot coffee buying frenzy begins to take place. After this rush, it goes quiet for a few hours until lunch time and then quiet again until early evening before he finally wheels his Bagel Wagon away and goes home.
Now the reason I point this out … and the reason I found this interesting as I stared down at him from my hotel suite…Is that it reminded me of two very important things:-
The first was the personal rule I imposed upon myself when I first decided to set up my own ‘cash-on-demand’ Home Based business. And that was to create a life of REAL FREEDOM! A life where I was in total control of my own life … where I could decide what I did and when I did it … where I could take several months of the year off and still NOT let it effect my income. Now, in complete contrast, here I was looking at this guy who … with his little Bagel Stand was ‘his own boss’ true enough … but where his CUSTOMERS are ruling HIS life. To cash in on the demand for Bagels from passers-by, He has NO CHOICE but to park his Bagel Stand where he does all day … even when times are quiet …come rain or shine.
The bottom line for him is if he is not selling his Bagels, he is not earning a single penny. It’s his own business yes, but on the other hand it’s his personal own PRISON too...
He can’t do what he wants … go where he wants … and he’ll never live the life he could be living because of it. In short, he is well and truly trapped! So he, like 99.9% of everyone else in business or those working for someone else, is doing the exact opposite of what you would do.
Around 10 years ago I found an alternative, taught to me by a reclusive wealthy guy in the USA. From what he taught me, I successfully developed a system, which I went on to call “cash-on-demand”.
